Our hospitality design work has included everything from fine-dining restaurants to executive lounges, hotel rooms and even a Presidential Suite for one of the world’s most iconic hotel brands.
Redefining a Presidential Suite at Peninsula Hotel
For a renovation of one of Peninsula Hotel’s Asian properties, we proposed expanding an existing, and rather tired, Presidential Suite by taking over two adjoining guest rooms. This allowed us to reconfigure the interior layout in a way that accommodated a glittering, formal, processional entry hall, an elegant, chandeliered dining room and a living room featuring a high, arched ceiling. In addition, the interior design of this huge, discrete yet elegant suite incorporated a security office, a fully functional kitchen, a gym, sauna and massage room, two very well appointed bedrooms and an executive level office with direct access to a rooftop heliport. The result was plush and comfortable but restrained, functional and secure.
Furniture Designed Exclusively for the Suite
Because of the iconic and economic significance of this space we were asked to design an entirely new line of furniture exclusively for the Presidential Suite. The resulting collection of chairs, beds, couches, side tables and every other freestanding and built-in furniture was conceived by our office as a compositional tool by which to support our singular design vision for this Presidential Suite. In this way we were able to evolve a comprehensive solution without compromise.
A Contemporary Interpretation of Classic Luxury
The resulting design reflected a fresh interpretation of traditional hospitality-focused interior design. Even this master bathroom illustrates how a relatively conservative approach to interior design can convey the contemporary values of privacy, luxury and functionality.
